Urgent

Safety comes first.

If you feel unsafe during a meetup, use the Panic Button in the app. One tap alerts your emergency contact, the venue and the Boredom safety team at the same time. It is free on every plan.

If you are in immediate danger, call the Nigerian emergency line 112 first, then let us know.

Help topics

Common questions.

I can't log in to my account
On the login screen, tap Forgot password and we'll email you a reset link — check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes. If you originally signed up with Apple, Google or Facebook, use that same button rather than a password. Still stuck? Email hello@boredomhq.com from the address on your account and we'll help you back in.
How do I delete my account and my data?
You can delete your account from inside the app in two places: open your Profile → Profile settings → Delete my data, or open the side menu and tap Delete Account. Either one starts a short confirmation wizard, and completing it permanently removes your profile, messages and personal data. You can also email hello@boredomhq.com from your account address and we will action it for you. Deleting your Boredom account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription — see the subscription question below.
A payment failed, or I was charged twice
Meetup and food payments are processed by Paystack. If a payment was taken but your order didn't confirm, the funds are held and released automatically — this usually settles within minutes. If it doesn't, email us with the date, amount and the last four digits of the card and we'll trace it with Paystack. See our Payment Terms for how charges, holds and settlement work.
How do refunds and cancellations work?
If a meetup is cancelled, or a split bill doesn't reach 100% of contributors by the deadline, every payment made towards it is refunded automatically to the original payment method. Bank refunds typically land within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. If a refund hasn't arrived after that, contact us with the meetup name and date. Full details are in our Terms and Payment Terms.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions bought inside the app are billed by Apple or Google, so they are cancelled there — not by us. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Boredom → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Boredom → Cancel. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
The app is asking for location, notifications or contacts
Every permission is optional and you can change your mind at any time. Location is used to show venues and meetups near you; notifications tell you about RSVPs, messages and orders. To change them later: iPhone/iPad — Settings → Boredom → toggle the permission. Android — Settings → Apps → Boredom → Permissions. Declining location still lets you browse and search venues by city.
My meetup, RSVP or order isn't showing up
First, pull down to refresh the screen, then check you're connected to the internet. If it still doesn't appear, close and reopen the app so it re-syncs. Persisting? Email us with the meetup name, the venue and roughly when you created it, and we'll look it up on our side.
I run a venue — how do I get support?
Venue partners manage menus, orders and payouts from the business dashboard. For questions about approval, payouts, commission or your listing, email hello@boredomhq.com with your business name. Our Vendor Agreement covers the commercial terms.
How do I report a user, a venue or a safety concern?
Open the profile or meetup in question and tap Report. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and are never shared with the person you reported. You can also block someone from their profile. For anything urgent, email hello@boredomhq.com with "Safety" in the subject line so it's prioritised. Concerns involving a minor are handled under our Child Safety Standards.
